Erelle with Lidocaine is a clear and biocompatible filler of the latest generation that consists of about 98% water and contains a re-absorbable polymer made from pure sodium carboxymethyl cellulose of NON-animal and NON-bacterial origin 1, commonly used in many injectable pharmaceutical products 2, 3 which has been specially designed to fill wrinkles and folds and rebalance facial volumes.
Erelle with Lidocaine does not migrate from the injection site and is reabsorbed slowly over time.
MORE EFFECTIVE. SAFER. LONGER LASTING.
Compared to collagen and hyaluronic acids,
Erelle with Lidocaine produces greater tissue lifting which results in:
Greater bulking effect- tissue pulls
Better shaping – moldable tissues
Longer permanence of the gel inside the wrinkle area
Less migration (“splaying” effect) to the surrounding tissues.

Erelle with Lidocaine is a predominantly solid product that can pass through small caliber
needles. This feature makes it the ideal pure technological filler:
● Best three-dimensional effects: it ensures immediate effects
even on tissues that have limited expansion
● Does not migrate from the injection site.
PROTEIN-FREE
Unlike all other fillers based on hyaluronic acid and collagen, Erelle with Lidocaine does not contain residues of bacterial endotoxins and is completely protein-free, reducing even further the possibility of local tissue reaction and post-injection immunogenic effects.
ANTI-AGING ACTION
The extracellular matrix of the skin (ECM) consists of high concentrations of endogenous hyaluronic acid which are broken down over 1-2 days. However, recent studies have shown that this turnover rate greatly increases with aging due to the decreased inactivation of the enzyme hyaluronidase, which results in a longer persistence of the break-down process on hyaluronic acid itself 14. Carboxymethyl cellulose has shown to possess a potent inhibitory effect on hyaluronidase, which seems to limit the break-down process of endogenous hyaluronic acid, preserving its molecular weight at the same time 4. These characteristics enable carboxymethyl cellulose not only to function as filler but also to carry a concomitant Anti-aging action of synergistic effects with the endogenous hyaluronic acids.
ANTIBACTERIAL
Carboxymethyl cellulose has been shown to have anti-bacterial action within tissues in various studies 7, 15. In addition to making the product extremely safe and suitable for aesthetic use, this feature also ensures that there is a lower development of bacterial biofilms at the site of infiltration, which, according to the latest research, are responsible for post-injection swelling 8.
CHEMICALLY CROSS-LINKED
Erelle with Lidocaine is the first and only injectable tissue filler for aesthetic use based on cross-linked carboxymethyl cellulose. Chemical cross-linking continues to be the method of choice for long-lasting effects, that is, for re-absorbable products which have long-term duration as their main objective. The type of crosslinking agent also affects the product’s durability and stability in the dermis. In fact, Erelle with Lidocaine shows excellent stability due to the chemical cross-linking obtained with butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE), a crosslinking agent that has distinguished itself for its safety with hyaluronic acids 5,6 for years.
HANDLING
Recent studies have shown that carboxymethyl cellulose can mimic the characteristics of hyaluronic acids 13. Erelle with Lidocaine is easy to inject and does not cause fibrosis.
The aesthetic effect is immediate and the results are long lasting. The product does not require a specific infiltration technique and its range of action spans from the superficial dermis to the subcutaneous tissue for the correction of wrinkles and facial imperfections.
Erelle with Lidocaine: Performance and Comfort
Bioitech has developed an innovative method of adding lidocaine within the hydrogel to make injections less painful and to increase patient comfort during product application. Erelle with Lidocaine significantly reduces the patient’s discomfort during the injection.
A multicenter study conducted in collaboration with ten specialists (dermatologists, plastic surgeons and aesthetic doctors) involved 82 patients who had already been using Erelle and switched to using the product with Lidocaine, confirming the growing favor of patients and doctors themselves as early as at first use of Erelle with Lidocaine and subsequent reapplications.
Doctors were asked to specify improvement of patient compliance during product application and patients who had already used Erelle without lidocaine were asked to rate the improvement of discomfort during and immediately after application of the product with lidocaine from 1 to 10.
The study demonstrated a significant reduction in pain during application, which was also reflected in subsequent sessions and where patients were more willing to undergo treatment.
Questions and Answers
What is Erelle with Lidocaine?
Erelle with Lidocaine is a medical device based on cross-linked Carboxymethyl cellulose that is part of a new class of injectable fillers as it not only fills facial wrinkles but is also effective in treating and shaping facial areas such as the cheeks, cheekbones, chin, mandibular arch and secondary lipoatrophy.
Why use Carboxymethyl cellulose?
Carboxymethyl cellulose is a biosynthetic product that does not derive from animal or human sources 9. It has been used in medicine for many years now 2, 3, 10, 11 and is approved for such use by the FDA. The available literature shows that Carboxymethyl cellulose is an extremely safe and inert substance without the phenomena of carcinogenicity or mutagenicity 12. Recent studies also reveal Anti-aging properties of carboxymethyl cellulose through the inhibition of hyaluronidase, the enzyme responsible for the break-down of hyaluronic acid present inside tissues 4.
Why not make another product based on hyaluronic acid?
Products based on Carboxymethyl cellulose for aesthetic use are part of an innovative range of injectables and are being increasingly used since their handling characteristics
and safety features are comparable to those of hyaluronic acids but they offer a more effective correction and greater duration. Some studies have shown a bactericidal effect within the tissues7, thus making the substance extremely safe for the intended use.
Longer lasting and better correction effects?
Crosslinking and the absence of specific enzymes capable of breaking down the molecule within the body human influence the stability of the polymer, giving it a longer average duration. Carboxymethyl cellulose is in fact broken down by non-enzymatic hydrolysis.
In addition, the polymer’s resistance to mechanical deformation yielded better results compared to those of other absorbable products.
