CelluCross is a raw material based on cross-linked carboxymethylcellulose, available in ophthalmic grade,sterilized by filtration, and is available in injectable form upon request (non-filterable 0.2 micron).

Cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose is an inert and extremely safe plant-based synthetic substance. Its cross-linking and the absence of specific enzymes capable of degrading the molecule in the human body stabilizes the polymer, making it extremely resistant to degradation. Furthermore, in its native state, cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose is a hydrogel which has specific characteristics of visco-supplementation, hydration and drug-delivery.

Cross-linked carboxymethylcellulose is used in the cosmetic industry as a viscosifier, in the ophthalmic sector for the manufacture of drops and gels with high mucoadhesion and as a carrier for active ingredients or for the controlled release of active ingredients.
